ACORN WAS ACCUSED OF PAYING PEOPLE TO REGISTER VOTERS, WHO THEN COULD HAVE VOTED FOR WHOMEVER THEY CHOSE. WHEREAS THE KOCH BROTHERS GET AWAY WITH FORCING THEIR 50,000 EMPLOYEES TO VOTE THE WAY THEY INSTRUCT THEM.

Thought Control: Right-Wing Koch Brothers Caught Telling Thousands of Employees How to Vote

The Nation magazine has revealed that Koch Industries sent a letter to most of its 50,000 employees on the eve of the November elections, advising them on whom to vote for and warning them of the dire consequences should they choose to vote otherwise. As a result of the Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission ruling last year, Koch Industries and other corporations are now legally allowed to pressure their workers to adopt their political views. Koch Industries is run by the billionaire brothers, Charles and David Koch, who have helped bankroll the Tea Party movement and dozens of other right-wing causes, including the recent attacks on public sector employees and unions going on in many states. VOTER FRAUD IS BELIEVED TO BE RAMPANT IN THE U.S. BY THOSE WHO WATCH THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA, BUT AFTER SPENDING 5 TO 7 YEARS RESEARCHING EVERY COUNTY IN THE COUNTRY, THIS AUTHOR FOUND FEW INDICTMENTS AND ALMOST NO CONVICTIONS...

About News From Underground

News From Underground is a daily e-news service run by Mark Crispin Miller, a Professor of Culture and Communication at NYU. It is based on his belief that academics, like reporters, have a civic obligation to help keep the people well-informed, so that American democracy might finally work.

If you'd like to receive updates delivered to your inbox daily, sign up for News From Underground Alerts.

Blogger's Note: I don't think that many of you are ready to watch the full 1 hour 17 minutes, but I found the first half hour to be totally engaging and immensely informative. (The rest is an open discussion of questions raised by the audience.) The first half hour is indeed a MUST-SEE for any American who has been led to believe that "voter fraud" is widely committed in the U.S. ...by liberals. No conservatives have ever been charged despite copious evidence of large-scale, highly organized, well financed, and decidedly fraudulent election activities (for the tip of the iceberg, go here).

Fair and Balanced Questions: What is truly going on in America, "voter fraud" by individual Democratic voters ...or systematic rigging of elections by hacking election computers? And supposing that the election computers ARE being hacked. Who is doing that, George Soros or Karl Rove?

As a start toward getting the truth, let's watch Jon Stewart's recent summation of Glenn Beck's amusingly illustrated case against Soros:

George Soros Plans to Overthrow America

In the clip you just watched you repeatedly hear "voter fraud" mentioned on Fox News -- enough times to make anyone suspect that myriad Democratic voters commiting "voter fraud" are the reason why the Republicans didn't sweep both houses of congress last November 2nd.  Karl Rove's role in hacking election computers goes totally unmentioned.

Is this because Rove innocent? Well, watch this Keith Olbermann clip from a couple years ago:

O.K., so that was a couple years ago. Maybe the case against Rove has long since dried up?

Um, well, this account is pretty damned current:

CBS, CNN capture video of Ohio attorney subpoena served on Karl Rove
October 27th, 2010 3:43 pm ET

COLUMBUS, Ohio (CGE) - A federal subpoena, issued by Ohio attorney Cliff Arnebeck and sanctioned by the Office of Ohio Secretary of State, was served last Sunday in Washington to Karl Rove on his way to an appearance on the CBS news program Face the Nation.

CNN, CBS capture video of subpoena servicing to Karl Rove

The process service for the subpoena reported that CBS and CNN camera men "captured video" of the event.

In an article written by Bob Fitrakis and Harvey Wasserman and published at OpEdNews.com, the federal subpoena orders Rove to testify in deposition about his role in the alleged theft of the 2004 election, and to discuss his orchestration of tens of millions of corporate/billionaire dollars in this year's General Elections on November 2.

It's not surprising that Glenn Beck missed this detail, because it certainly doesn't fit very well into his story.

But why didn't Olbermann pick up on it?

Oops, how obvious! Olbermann has recently been shown that he can be fired for the most trivial of "missteps" ...and any mention on the air of electronic election rigging in the USA by REPUBLICANS would surely be a "capital offense."

The "mainstream media" that most Americans watch is mostly owned by Rupert Murdoch, not George Soros.

Perhaps many of my readers have difficulty in believing that wholesale election rigging can be taking place in "the land of the free and the home of the brave." That would be thoroughly un-American. Surely something that would have been detected and decried by the House Un-American Activities Committee...

Seriously though, U.S. voting machines and central tabulators are decidedly vulnerable to hacking by insiders.

But how do we know that and why should we believe such an un-American activity is being carried out in America? Well, even Jon Stewart has figured this out:

But neither Jon Stewart nor Glenn Beck are computer experts. So let's hear from some true experts:

Perhaps you Fox News watchers are a bit suspicious that all those experts may have been "poor loser" Democrats. If so, then hear it from REPUBLICAN information-technology expert Stephen Spoonamore:

So, now maybe you are convinced that the means for wholesale election theft are soundly established, but is there any strong evidence of wholesale rigging of U.S. elections has actually taken place?

Yes, indeed there is!   For example, I highly recommend that you read "Was the 2004 Presidential Election Stolen?" by Steven F. Freeman & Joel Bleifuss. But if that is too much bother and/or you want to know about more recent elections than 2004, go here: http://electiondefensealliance.org/

That leaves only the question of what George Soros has been up to recently.

Just what is Soros' role in U.S. politics? Is he really plotting the overthrow of the entire country like Glenn Beck says? Well, an article in today's Los Angeles Times spells out Soros' stated opinion on Obama's first two years in office.

The last three paragraphs of this LA Times article read like this:
Soros, who did not participate in the 2010 election ... [says] Obama needs to push back more against the right, particularly around the issue of tax cuts.

"I admire the president for his attempt to rise above partisan party politics," he said in a statement he sent to the Tribune Washington Bureau. "His policies have made the recession he inherited shorter and shallower than it would otherwise have been. But after two years of complete noncooperation and vicious distortion, the time for compromise has ended."

"Extending the Bush tax cuts for the top 2% will not create jobs, but it will preclude further job-creating fiscal measures, including support to states," he said. (blogger emphasis added)
Um, that doesn't sound much like a plot to take over the country to me.

Rather, it sounds a lot more like a plot for We The People to rein in the looting of our country by the richest 2% -- and implies that Soros is actually "calling in artillery on his own position" to SAVE the country!

With big banks hitting taxpayers for $Trillions to pay their gambling debts, why is Congress jumping a tiny organization of relatively poor folks?

The answer to the title question is this: The big banks and other big-moneyed interests intend to tar ACORN with some of the very same election-related crimes that they themselves have been practicing ...and the Main Stream Media (owned by big-moneyed interests) have turned a blind eye to.

With regard to the recent (likely big-money sponsored) sting operation, which entangled only a very few of ACORN’s 700 employees, watch this DemocracyNow! segment:

Now let’s return to the “voter fraud” issue. The big-moneyed interests fear that if all of the “low- to moderate-income people across the United States” were to vote, candidates less deferential to the big-moneyed interests might be elected.

So, last fall ACORN was accused of registering voters who gave their names as “Mickey Mouse” or were registered in one state and falsely pretended to be an eligible voter in another.

But to the extent this may have been true, (1) such false registrations were clearly the faults of those who filled out the forms, (2) those folks who falsely filled out forms would be extremely unlikely to risk committing a felony double vote under the name Mickey Mouse and/or by traveling to another state to take this risk, (3) any conceivable culpability on the part of ACORN in such situations would not have been a felony, and...

(4) ACORN has never in fact been charged with “voter fraud.”

The same can’t be said of operatives sponsored by the big-moneyed interests.

Here’s what the MSM hasn’t told you: In the run-up to the 2004 presidential election, a firm called Sproul and Associates launched voter registration drives in at least eight states. The group was run by Nathan Sproul, the former head of the Arizona Christian Coalition and the Arizona Republican Party. And thanks to the sleuthing of John R. Brakey, Mark Crispin Miller, and Jared Irmas, it is known that Sproul’s voter registration services, “political consulting,” and certain unspecified post-election activities were paid for by the Republican National Committee (RNC) to the tune of $8,359,161(!) – making Sproul the eighth largest expenditure of the RNC’s 2004 campaign. (You can download a copy of this story here.)

Do you think the RNC lavished all this money on Sproul for honest election-related activities?

Well, in fact, back in the fall of 2004 Sproul’s firm was up to its corporate keister in dirty tricks THAT WERE FELONIES. Below I’ve extracted one paragraph from a much longer article entitled “Republican Dirty Tricks” by Max Blumenthal, posted on AlterNet October 15, 2004:

Sproul's dirty tricks may have finally caught up with him, though far from his stomping grounds in Arizona. In Oregon, Sproul's firm is being investigated by the state attorney general and could face a class-C felony, punishable by five years in jail, for allegedly altering and destroying voter registration forms. And in Nevada, state election officials have just launched an investigation into whether Sproul's Voters Outreach of America destroyed the registration forms of exclusively Democratic voters.

Did the MSM tell you about this? Well, they have been pretty mum on this subject, but CNN did put out this story. Still, there have been no news reports of any of Sproul’s people being convicted of felony destruction voter registration forms. But Sproul and Associates received as much as $2.3 million of their total $8.3 million in payments from the RNC after the 2004 Election. Could it be that much of this late-arriving money was a legal defense fund?

So let’s summarize.

Nathan Sproul and the groups he controlled were paid $8.3 million to commit (and perchance defend themselves against charges of) felony election fraud in 2004 ...and yet he appears to have gotten away scot-free.

ACORN, a group representing “low- to moderate-income people” (and thus unlikely to have a multi-million dollar defense fund) is falsely accused of doing what Sproul did ...and is now denounced by both houses of Congress for the indiscretions of likely no more than a dozen of its 700 low-paid employees caught in a sting operation (run by Sproul?).
